DTF PRINTING (DIRECT-TO-FILM) TRANSFERS

Get bold, full-colour logos with a soft hand-feel—without the setup costs of screen print. DTF transfers are printed to a film, powdered with adhesive and heat-pressed to your garment. They’re durable, stretchy and perfect for short runs, mixed sizes and multicolour artwork.

Why choose DTF?

  • Full colour + gradients with crisp detail (great for photos and complex logos).
  • No big setup fees—ideal from 1 piece to bulk runs.
  • Soft, flexible finish that moves with the fabric.
  • Wide fabric range: cotton, poly, blends, fleece and many softshells.
  • Consistent results across tees, polos, hoodies, hi-vis and more.

Best uses

Uniform left-chest logos • Large back prints • Safety and site messaging • Event tees • Sponsor logos • Numbering/names • Small batch merch

How it works

  1. Artwork & quote – Send vector (AI/EPS/PDF) or 300 DPI PNG with transparent background.
  2. Proof – We confirm size, colours and placement.
  3. Production – Transfers produced (in-house or trusted AU partners).
  4. Pressing – We heat-press in-house for a durable finish.
  5. Quality check & delivery – Every item checked before dispatch.

Artwork guidelines

  • Vector preferred; or PNG 300 DPI at print size (transparent background).
  • Minimum line weight ≈1–1.5 mm; avoid ultra-thin scripts.
  • Convert text to outlines; supply Pantone refs for colour matching.
  • Avoid semi-transparent effects under 30%—flatten if possible.

Placements & typical sizes

  • Left chest: 80–100 mm wide
  • Sleeve/shoulder: 60–80 mm wide
  • Full back/front: 280–320 mm wide (adult)
We’ll balance proportions so small text stays legible.

Lead times & minimums

Most DTF orders are ready in 5–10 business days from proof approval. No strict minimums; bundle orders to reduce per-unit cost.

Care instructions

Wash inside-out, cold/warm. Mild detergent. Avoid bleach/softeners. Line dry or low tumble. Do not iron directly on the print (iron inside-out if needed).

DTF vs other methods

  • DTF – best for multicolour detail, low setup, small to medium runs.
  • Embroidery – premium texture for small logos/caps, ultra-durable.
  • Screen print – most cost-effective for large high-volume single/limited colours.
  • Vinyl/HTV – solid spot colours, simple shapes, names/numbers.

Hi-vis note: We place prints to maintain AS/NZS visibility panels—ask us to recommend compliant positions.
